University of Southern California

Nursing@USC — the Master of Science in Nursing program from the University of Southern California School of Social Work — is preparing a new kind of family nurse practitioner (FNP) who will address both the biomedical and social factors affecting patient health.

Through a first-of-its-kind integration of nursing and social work education, the program trains FNPs to deliver care across the life span in a variety of primary care settings.

Eligible applicants are registered nurses who have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least one year of clinical experience.

How Students Learn:

Nursing@USC’s unique learning experience allows aspiring FNPs across the United States to earn a USC education without relocating.

The program blends face-to-face online classes with in-person learning experiences on USC’s campus and at clinical sites near students’ communities. All classes are designed and taught by USC’s world-class faculty, who are experienced and respected nurse practitioners.

Students have the flexibility of earning their degree either full time or part time within 21 or 33 months.
